Plants Have Clits Too Workshop - 3/13 at the Container

What can a relationship with flowers, plants, herbs and the earth teach us about our relationship with our own bodies? Join Clare Parks, midwife apprentice, herbalist, and health educator to learn about how love and respect for one’s own body is foundational to our sexual health and pleasure, and how a handful of herbs can facilitate that relationship. Workshop will include herbal materia medica (digital), taste tests, and a take-home blend for each attendee. For individuals and/or couples / buddies / confidantes / cronies / best friends.

Note: this class is being scheduled during an on call period for the facilitator, so if it has to be rescheduled due to a birth, we will email asap with possible make-up dates.

Price: $33 per person

Share your birth story

A lot can happen at your birth - things you may feel grateful for, resentful of, excited about, surprised by, and everything in between. It is difficult to process everything that happened without a designated space for it. Sharing with family and friends can help, but we need to know we are in a space of nonjudgmental support where we can fully process and integrate what happened. Join Clare Parks, birth + postpartum doula and student midwife trained in trauma-informed birth processing methods to share your birth story with specific prompts in a supportive, small group setting. You will have the option to have your story recorded, transcribed, and sent to you if you would like a written memory of your experience. Community referrals to perinatal mental health support will be made available to all attendees. Please register in advance so we can keep these groups small.

$33 to attend, $55 for transcription

Purchase via site (coming soon) or email clare@natureandnurture.love to Register

Postpartum Recovery - Mugs for Moms

Join us at Mugs for Moms on Saturday, February 11th! Free event for community building and practical preparation. I’m excited to talk with you all about what to expect in your postpartum - a realm you only truly understand when you step into it. In the meantime, there are plenty of ways to prepare, including reaching out to the people you know you want to lean on, setting and communicating clear boundaries early on, and preparing your pantry/freezer. We’ll have samples of items you can order from Harvested Postpartum, and super easy recipes for quick high-nutrient snacks/drinks you can have ready for yourself before baby gets here (or no matter how old your baby is if you’re already in it). I’m also very proud of the list of community resources I’ve compiled over the years so you know who in the community you can reach out to when things get challenging. And in any recipe share, I’ll include a list of local farmers and where to find them so it feels simple and practical to eat food grown as close to home as possible.

In my dreams this will be a workshop that partners and friends and family members attend regularly because they realize how important it is to truly show up for new parents in practical ways (e.g., with food, with gentle advice only when asked, with specific tasks to help with, with lots of warmth and love). People at all points of pregnancy and postpartum are welcome too!! Workshop starts at 11 and we’ll cover as much as we can in an hour. I’m going to come early and stay later because I know sometimes as a parent you’re either 15 minutes late or 30 minutes early, plus it gives us some one-on-one time if you want to check out some herbal products or ask other questions.
